POINTS LIST

The ranking of Scottish players is done by the Ranking Committee.

Ranking positions are reviewed after every major tournament and where appropriate any updates are published on the Web site as soon as practicable.

The committee's evaluation is based on the performance of players against each other and against other players over a period of time.

A single victory against a higher ranked player is not sufficient, in isolation, to change the ranking, whereas a series of improved performances could.

Players who only play infrequently in Scottish Tournaments will be given a dummy ranking for tournaments, but will not be shown on the ranking list.

The ranking committee reports to the Support Director, Tricia Whitaker.

ELIGIBILITY FOR INTERNATIONAL SELECTION

To be eligible for international selection a player must satisfy the current rules for international eligibility as detailed under rule 3.8 of the International Table Table Tennis Federadtion Rules 2003-2005

In the 12 months prior to selection, a player should have played in the following:
• The Scottish National Championships
• At least one Assessment Tournament in their age group
• One other Open Tournament in Scotland (assuming that Open Tournaments advertised in the Calendar for the relevant 12 months go ahead).

In addition, a player must be a member of the National Squad in good standing

Please note that the International Selection Committee has the right to waive the criteria in exceptional circumstances.
